Regional Account Manager
To represent MCAP Mortgage Corporation and develop business from the region’s extensive broker network.
Assist in development and presentation of marketing plans to potential customers. Included in marketing plan is a proposed training curriculum required to familiarize the brokers with MCAP`s product, underwriting guidelines, etc.
Participating with the Team to develop a marketing package for use with brokers.
Promote products and service to existing and potential clients within the mortgage broker community. The marketing of these accounts will be the Regional Area Manager’s responsibility, as will any activities concerning volume incentives or other programs designed to generate increased production from them. On a continuous basis, monitor which accounts are increasing volume and those who require additional training.
Marketing activities will be performed in a professional, positive manner, maintaining the corporate Business Code of Ethics while meeting targets.
Creating a broker file for each broker with account base. The basic information required is:
Name and address of company;
Telephone and fax numbers;
The principle of the company;
Current list of agents (centers of influence as well);
Type of business done by office (i.e., MCAP A/B product);
The gross volume done by the company;
The agreed upon volume of the current year;
Copy of the current license.
Ensuring proper communication to broker clients is maintained in the following areas:
Products and services as changes occur;
Rate changes within 24 hours of change;
Any other information as mandated by the Company;
Ensure that the process for additions to firms, change of firm by an individual, name change of firm or merger are documented and proper information provided for changes to Access and MARS.
Determining and reporting the number of visits required to the broker offices to generate volume projections, using broker lists. This includes training meetings, general visits and unstructured visits.
Presenting an overview of accounts with respect to volumes of “A” and “B” business and monthly projections.
Reporting back to Business Development Manager each month as to where each account stands as per volume to original projections, and update and refine these on a monthly basis.
Provide Weekly Activity update to Regional VP and Business Development Manager with respect to market conditions, competitor news, successes with new and existing accounts, visits and issues or concerns voiced by the brokers.
Maintaining the professional service levels expected by broker clients, and by internal colleagues, to ensure prompt processing of new mortgage business and smooth file delivery (with appropriate documentation) through to the advanced of funds.
Support to Team
Providing assistance as required in underwriting, etc.
Providing assistance to the Business Development Manager for the development of "A" accounts.
Services and Process Improvement
Noting significant customer issues/suggestions, competitor activities and products, process inefficiencies, etc., and bringing this information to team discussions on service and process improvement. The incumbent will use data from tracking and recording activities to assess process performance and to assist the team to identify and rectify inefficiencies in administrative and service delivery processes.
Knowledge (Education / Experience)
2 year Marketing diploma or 2 years experience in a marketing position;
2 years experience in financial services industry;
3–6 months experience in MCAP underwriting role;
Completion of Mortgage Brokering 101 or Sub-Broker license
Real Estate Council of Alberta Mortgage Brokers License
Skills and Assets
Intermediate Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Outgoing, enthusiastic, flexible and organized;
Ability to deal effectively with conflict resolution
