Business Development Manager
HomEquity Bank is a Canadian Schedule I bank and its parent company, HOMEQ Corporation is listed on the TSX under the symbol HEQ. HomEquity Bank is the only national provider of reverse mortgages to homeowners aged 60 and over, Canada’s fastest growing demographic segment. HomEquity Bank originates and administers Canada’s largest portfolio of reverse mortgages under the CHIP Home Income Plan brand. As of March 31, 2011, the mortgage portfolio comprised approximately 8,000 reverse mortgages with an accrued value of $1.1 billion, secured by residential properties across Canada worth approximately $2.8 billion. HomEquity Bank has been the main underwriter of reverse mortgages in Canada since its predecessor, Canadian Home Income Plan, pioneered the concept in 1986.
We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to develop business relationships and close new accounts in assigned territories. Quarterly and Annual quotas are established to reward and measure your performance. A highly competitive commission and graduated bonus potential program is provided in addition to a generous base salary, car allowance, benefits program and fully-equipped home office.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
Responsible for delivering established sales targets
Develop and maintain referral-producing relationships with established corporate partners through frequent Product Awareness Presentations and regular branch/site meetings
Close sales by effectively managing the sales process from first contact to funding while managing the involvement of third party participants such as Financial Advisor, Banker, Accountant, Lawyer, family members, etc
Ongoing development of product knowledge, sales skills and sales/relationship management technique
Responsible for providing sound activity management reports
Create, develop and customize approved sales program to ensure that the company’s products are effectively represented throughout the assigned territory

Superior relationship building sales skills who can “ask for the business” from our referral partners
Strong interpersonal skills relating to and working with people at various levels of job positions
Your Qualifications Include:
Minimum 5-7 years selling in a commission driven environment
Proven track record of relationship sales success
Familiarity with financial planning is a must
Experience in financial services, real estate or insurance sales is a definite asset
