Over its 18 year history Magenta has grown to become the largest non-institutional mortgage lender in Eastern Ontario. The Company sources, underwrites and manages a mortgage portfolio secured by properties located primarily in metropolitan Ottawa, and throughout Eastern Ontario.

The Company is looking for a senior administrator with experience in residential mortgage funding, with complementary skills in customer service, default management, mortgage law and civil procedure. The successful candidate will have at least five years of mortgage fulfillment experience in a mortgage brokerage, bank, or consumer finance company.

The ideal candidate will also play a pivotal role in the future growth and development of the company with commensurate potential for assuming underwriting responsibility. This is a singular opportunity for a capable, motivated individual to dramatically transcend their current career path.

The successful candidate will be assigned to our Kanata office and will be providing direct support to our senior underwriter while working remotely with our funding and administration team in Perth.



Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Special focus on underwriting support and conditions review.
  • Share duties with a team working in the areas of funding, renewals, discharges and the payment of taxes and insurance.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, lawyers, realtors, appraisers, and borrowers to guarantee a customer focused environment, including quick turnaround and proper escalation.
  • Prioritize incoming requests from brokers, etc., to manage variable workflow.
  • Maintain databases with accuracy.
  • Ensure that audit/compliance procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintaining customer confidentiality and security procedures.
  • Provide operational support by identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities in streamlining workflows.
  • Participate in projects as required to assist in the building and development of the business.

  • Excellent communicator that can produce accurate and clear communication both spoken and written.
  • Interested in and knowledgeable about the regional real estate market and economy.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem solving skills.

  • Effective working either independently or within a team environment.
  • A creative thinker that knows how to find new ways to solve problems.

  • Ability to build and develop relationships while managing client expectations and defusing potential conflicts.



  • University degree an asset.
  • Bilingual (French) and Quebec-based mortgage experience is an asset but not a requirement.
  • Applicants should have a depth of experience in the mortgage lending business, either through a mortgage or finance company, bank or financial institution, or real estate law office.
  • A mortgage agent or administrator’s license is an asset but is not required.
  • Ability to understand and interpret mortgage documents and legal documents.
  • Ability to review and understand appraisals and other valuation tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel), databases, and internet.
  • The company will train in its custom software applications however Filogix and Simply Accounting experience is an asset.
  • Must have proven success communicating and dealing with clients, lawyers and partners (brokers, realtors, property managers).
  • Ability to manage clients effectively on the telephone.
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities and busy practices.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.
