Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Product Development & Management, the Senior Manager is responsible for assisting in the strategic direction for B2B Trust products, service offerings and the integration of a newly acquired mortgage portfolio (portfolio includes HELOC product). This includes the research, analysis, and planning, as well as design, implementation and execution of new product offers and the integration of a new mortgage portfolio with B2B Trust’s existing portfolio of mortgages. The incumbent is also responsible for evaluating the existing product suite in terms of market potential, relevance, competitive differentiation, delivery channel and alignment with B2B Trust market positioning goals. The incumbent is responsible for developing strategic and business objectives for product offer development and the mortgage portfolio integration inclusive of the detailed logistical planning required to take a new product/integration of acquired mortgage products, service, feature or offer from concept to market/to B2B Trust’s mortgage offer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate a newly acquired mortgage portfolio and existing product suite in terms of market potential, relevance, competitive differentiation, channel and alignment with B2B Trust market positioning goals.
  • Research, analyze, plan, design, implement and execute the new product development cycle/acquired mortgage portfolio cycle as well as post-launch program/implementation product tracking.
  • Develop marketing strategies that influence the profitability, sales volumes, and portfolio mix of B2B Trust.
  • Develop strategic and business objectives for offer development inclusive of the detailed logistical planning required taking a new product, service, feature or offer from concept to reality.
  • Lead product integration projects with an assigned team to develop and plan for the integration of an acquired mortgage portfolio taking into account logistical planning and product fit with existing B2B Trust product suite.
  • Direct marketing strategies in accordance with client preferences, local market trends and opportunities, national market tendencies, seasonal opportunities, competitors’ product line-up and promotional approaches, with information coming from internal and external contributors.
  • Manage the main orientation and priorities of product development and management, mortgage portfolio and ensure success by overseeing all scheduled activities.
  • Develop post-launch program/product tracking and assist with the development of product management metrics including market share and profitability.
  • Position the product line-up in accordance with advertising plans and ensure that all products are available in all existing and future distribution channels.
  • Ongoing management of all aspects of the existing product offer, the newly acquired mortgage portfolio including sales and share analysis and research, portfolio metrics reporting, competitive positioning reviews and create action plans [as required] to enhance the product offer
  • Build and manage relationships with external partners and organizations.
  • Manage co-branded product development/product offering as applicable with external business partners and opportunities are leveraged.
  • Ensure that targeted product penetration rates are attained for all existing, integrated mortgage portfolio products and new products.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations in order to ensure that the department’s procedures, projects and practices evolve accordingly.
  • Manage department staff to ensure business objectives are attained.

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field and 7 to 10 years of product development & management experience, including 2 to 3 years of experience in a people management role.

or

  • College Diploma in a related field and 9 to 12 years of product development & management experience, including 2 to 3 years experience in a people management role
  • Good knowledge of human resources management principles.
  • Experience in a business-to-business marketing role an asset.
  • Experience in mortgage product portfolio integration projects and experience in product managing a mortgage and HELOC portfolio considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with market evaluations, financial analysis, product pricing, new product design and delivery, and management of a suite of product offers within a product development lifecycle context.
  • Results oriented with strong leadership, decision-making, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Creative, out of the box thinker who challenges the status quo
  • Solid project management skills.
  • A highly effective communicator with well-developed presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Experience with bank and monoline lenders an asset.
  • AMP designation an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) communication skills would be an asset.
