DEFAULT MANAGEMENT & CLAIMS OFFICER

OVERVIEW

Canada Guaranty
is currently seeking a Default
Management & Claims Officer
to
join our growing Toronto team.
Working in a customer-centric environment, the ideal candidate must have effective communication, analytical and problem solving skills, along
with a passion for delivering superior customer service. This position provides support
and assistance to our lender partners in the processing and settlement
of Claims and in Default Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze
    and review lender Claim submissions, including all supporting documentation, and prepare Claim packages with recommendation for settlement.
  • Thorough review
    of all underwriting and
    legal documents, as required
    on claims.
  • Manage Claims via the Canada Guaranty Vantage platform and provide
    support to external partners
    with online Claim submissions.
  • Communicate effectively with lenders and other third party partners, both verbally and in writing,
    to provide ongoing updates throughout
    the Claim and Default Management processes.
  • Review
    delinquent files to identify and develop suitable workout solutions that support the
    lender’s objectives, while ensuring all Canada Guaranty guidelines are satisfied.
  • Develop
    and maintain lender relationships to
    support our partners in the area of Loss
    Management.
  • Ensure
    lenders are knowledgeable about,
    and operate within, the established Canada Guaranty
    and industry guidelines for both Claims and Default Management
    processes.
  • Assist
    in the management of all general Claims and Loss Management inquiries through
    effective and timely correspondence.
  • Communicate to
    internal partners any business
    trends, market issues or other areas of concern
    that could affect Canada
    Guaranty’s future interests
    or those of our partners.
  • Actively
    participate and contribute to
    the ongoing development of
    strategies, policies and procedures
    for the Loss Management Department.
  • Maintain current information on the competitive practices and industry standards for
    both Claims Processing and Default
    Management.
  • Participate
    in special projects or
    other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in any
    or all of the following areas: Claims
    Processing (preferred),
    Default Management, Mortgage Recovery and Collection processes.
  • Knowledge
    of the Mortgage Foreclosure/Power
    of Sale process, including
    legal differences by province, is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the standard
    lender/insurer Underwriting Guidelines, Claims
    Practices, and Homeownership
    Solutions Program is beneficial.
  • Strong
    communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Problem solving, analytical and investigative skills are essential.
  • Strong
    organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Establish
    and manage effective working relationships,
    both internally and
    externally.
  • Manage multiple
    projects and priorities
    within defined time
    parameters.
  • Ability
    to adapt to changes within
    a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
  • Presentation skills
    to share information or provide
    training, as required, internally or externally.
  • Team
    oriented with customer
    centric approach and a professional demeanor.
  • Goal oriented
    to support the individual and/or team
    targets as defined by management.
  • Proficient
    in Microsoft Office
    applications.
  • College Diploma or University degree
    in Business or related
    field preferred.
