Loss Management Associate

OVERVIEW
Canada Guaranty is currently seeking a Loss Management Associate to join our Toronto-based Loss Management Team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process lender arrears reports and new delinquencies.
  • Update system applications on open files.
  • Oversee Proof of Claim process to ensure Canada Guaranty receives available dividends or related funds.
  • Manage Writ/Judgments in order to protect Canada Guaranty’s rights and in accordance with unique guidelines per province.
  • Assist with the tracking of property listings.
  • Provide support on the Recoveries Process.
  • Respond to legal queries surrounding judgments and, where appropriate, prepare Execution Letters.
  • Administer the early term delinquency process as required.
  • Provide back-up support for the preparation and processing of claims.
  • Participate in the management of the general e-mail and phone lines.
  • Participate in team projects and other duties, as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the financial or high-ratio mortgage insurance areas.
  • Knowledge of the legal process for Mortgage Foreclosure/Power of Sale process would be beneficial.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Quick learner of new tasks.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities within defined time parameters.
  • Adaptability to changes within a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Goal oriented to support the individual and/or team targets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION
College Diploma or University degree in Business or related field preferred.
