We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our education team. Reporting to the Director, Education, the Education Consultant supports the development and implementation of instructional programs focusing on professional competencies within the mortgage industry. The successful candidate will provide curriculum-design expertise with an evidence-based approach and help improve the learning experience of the students. Responsibilities include sourcing and creating content for MPC’s leading edge continuing education programs, as well as the design and development of new or upgraded professional courses based on feedback from subject matter experts (SME’s).
Develop and implement components of instructional programs
Plan and oversee the implementation of an evaluation framework for assigned projects
Create high-quality learning materials for classroom, virtual, self-directed, or blended learning experiences, direct project partners, schedule content reviews & sessions, and manage its communication, delivery & evaluation
Demonstrate continuous innovation (e.g. maximizing efficiency in the development cycle to reduce project timeline, reducing time to proficiency for the learner)
Analyze internal and external trends and recommend educational programming improvements related to professional development within the mortgage industry
Work with the subject matter experts (SME’s) to obtain the information and organize it into logical, instructional patterns that are appropriate for the culture and level of expertise of the end users
Perform other duties and assistance to any position as required
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and French
A diploma, certificate or a university degree in adult education, instructional design/curriculum development, instruction and/or equivalent work experience as outlined below.
Comprehensive knowledge and proven ability in curriculum design, instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
The ability to take subject matter provided by a customer and create compelling e-learning information presentations, interactive practice exercises and assessments
Strong research, documentation, communication, and technical writing skills including the ability to write concise, creative and effective instruction, especially for training
Proven track record of managing multiple design projects with minimal definition, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Camtasia Studio, and/or other rapid development tools, as well as eLearning authoring tools
General LMS knowledge required
Knowledge and/or experience in the financial services sector preferred
Experience researching and interpreting government regulations preferred
