The successful candidate will work closely with CMI’s Services division team and Company’s BDM to support them in facilitating private mortgage transactions. Work with the fulfillment officers to satisfy conditions as per the commitment and have excellent organizational skills.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, you will be joining an experienced team of mortgage professionals in the private lending space. This role requires a dedicated and driven individual, who does not shy away from hard work and long hours. Receive, review, analyze and verify mortgage applications and documentation for completeness, accuracy, suitability, and risk.
Follow up on issued commitments, quoted deals.
Work in collaboration with both the Business Development Officer and the Closer to ensure timely sales and completion of mortgage applications and to maintain positive relationships and build loyalty to the Company.
Ability to read, review and understand appraisals.
Maintain up to date contact information of assigned broker partners in the system.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with mortgage brokers to build loyalty to the Company.
Ensure consistent and sound risk assessments are maintained while managing high volumes and a continued focus on service excellence, within a 2-hour SLA to our broker partners.
Stays current with latest industry knowledge, competition, and market trend.
Maintain positive relationships with clients, lenders, and 3rd party contacts.
Other duties as assigned.
3-5 years of mortgage underwriting or mortgage broker experience.
Experience in renovation & draw financing would be an asset.
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce is preferred).
A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, Adobe Professional, and Outlook.
Experience in residential mortgage underwriting.
Works well in a high-pressure environment.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
Self-starting and goal oriented.
Excels in creating and keeping deadlines.
Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
Candidates must have strong computer skills.
Strong sales, networking and marketing skills would be an asset.
Any professional training including bank training in AML, FINTRAC; License: FSCO License Optional and strong existing broker networks would be nice to have.
