What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- oversee and implement the social housing mortgage renewal process on behalf of Service Managers.
- provide mortgage renewal and mortgage loan expertise, advice and guidance to Service Manager clients, housing sector organizations and other partners regarding mortgage instruments and redevelopment and refinancing strategies, and mortgage-related issues associated with the borrower's financing needs.

How do I qualify?
Specialized Knowledge:
- You have knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and practices, with specialized knowledge of mortgage financing and loan administration
- You have knowledge of real estate practices and debt management to provide mortgage renewal and loan expertise, advice and guidance on mortgage loan instruments and redevelopment strategies.
- You have the ability to apply knowledge of ministry social housing and related housing programs, relevant legislative authorities (e.g., Social Housing Agreement, Housing Services Act, Bank Act, Mortgages Act, Construction Lien Act) and the branch's mortgage renewal process.
- You have computer proficiency to ensure the maintenance of various tracking systems and the generation of spreadsheets and reports.Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
- You have the proven ability to use tact, diplomacy and professionalism to appropriately represent the ministry in dealings with external stakeholders.
- You have influencing skills to negotiate with external stakeholders and provide subject matter expertise and sound advice to clients and partners.
- You have the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships while managing competing financial and political interests and strict deadlines in a facilitative and constructive manner.
- You have communication and presentation skills to design, develop and deliver a range of training and information sessions.
- You have written communication skills to prepare a variety of materials, including briefing notes, issue notes and ministerial correspondence.Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- You have the demonstrated ability to perform financial analyses related to mortgage renewals investment reconciliations, amortization schedules, variable interest rates and credit worthiness reports.
- You have the ability to develop financing strategies and options that meet stakeholder needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- You have the ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and facilitate risk management strategies and the resolution of mortgage renewal issues affecting social housing.
Salary Range: $76,382 - $112,555 Per Year
